Segments
Segments are individual sections of a sprocket ring that can be replaced independently. This modular approach allows for targeted maintenance, reducing the cost and time involved in changing an entire sprocket assembly. It's especially useful in high-wear applications where sprocket damage is common.
Like full sprockets, segments are manufactured from heat-treated steels designed to endure heavy loads. Their teeth must align precisely with the track chain to prevent slippage. Regular checks ensure that worn segments are replaced before causing further undercarriage issues.
Using segments can be a cost-effective solution for large fleets or high-intensity operations. By only replacing damaged segments, operators can minimize downtime and keep equipment running smoothly. Proper installation and torque settings are critical to ensuring segment stability and longevity.
